I am using the following line art.

This is the color palette I am offering for you to use :) Your dolphin will not be the same color as mine but it will be just as cute ;)
dolphin - ![]()
First change the outline color of your dolphin line art ( not sure how? go here ) With the colors above it should look like this :

Now use color #2 to add shading like below

It doesn't have to be neat, sometimes the scribbledness works perfectly :)
Use color 3 to add more shading as you see below :)

Then use color 4 to floodfill the blank areas :)

Now you're dolphin is great as is :) But you can add a new layer, use color 5 for highlights ( Ive got my paint brush set to size 3 )

and then gaussian blur ( radius 2.98 )

That is pretty cool as is ( in my opinion ) but we need to make sure there are no floating pixels outside the dolphin since we blurred it ;) Go down to the layer with the dolphin on it. Go to SELECTIONS >> SELECT ALL>> then back to SELECTIONS >> FLOAT then go in again SELECTIONS >> DEFLOAT... Once more into SELECTIONS >> INVERSE...

Should have the marching ants just like above. Now go to the layer you just drew the yellow highlight on.. and click DELETE. This should clear up all the stray pixels.
I like to take it a step further... First press CTRL+D to get rid of the marquee ( marching ants ) Now on the same layer as the yellow highlights go to LAYERS >> PROPERTIES Change the blend mode to DODGE and set the opacity to a number you think looks good :) I have mine set on 9 .. and voila.. a shiny wet dolphin :D

Hope you had fun :) See you next time ;)
