This tutorial is not meant to offend anyone in any way nor is it directed to any one person in particular. It is intended for educational purposes anyway. If you have been retubing incorrectly this tutorial will show you how to retube the correct way.
For the purpose of this tutorial we are going to consider this the original tube from my members area that you wish to retube and distribute (after you've purchased a tubing license of course):

This witch is, in fact, from a tube set available in the member's area (so if you aren't a member you do not have permission to use her)
Ideally, this is what she would look like when you "retube and distribute" her from your website or member's area. Here she is included with background tubes from other tube sets, as well as bats you've drawn yourself (by hand) and you see her hat has had additional details added to further differentiate her from the original you downloaded from my website:

But I understand maybe you don't have the time or interest in investing this much effort into the items you offer your members or website visitors. That's fine. Goodness knows I have some weeks where I scarcely have the time to sit at my PC and check my email - much less get time to open Photoshop and do some pixeling. However, something like this would be acceptable as well:

As you can see many details have been added to her hat, dress, and hair to differentiate her a good deal from the original tube you downloaded from my website.

The three witches below are examples of what NOT TO DO when retubing!!
From left to right:
A. Don't just change the haircolor and call it a unique edit!
B. Don't just add one small detail and call it a unique edit!
C. Don't just recolor the outfit and call it a unique edit!

I do not consider "recolors" unique edits. Even if you recolor everything! Something additional has to be added to the tube, a scene, a pet, details, etc.. Recoloring is not a UNIQUE edit. I intentionally leave a lot of detail out of the tubes I put in the members area and shop in order to give you the opportunity to elaborate on them as your heart desires so you can make something that is truly sculpted from your imagination using the clay of tubes, line arts and pixels. I understand that some people want to participate in the community but maybe feel they do not have the talent or skill required to create original stuff so they edit tubes. Although I think EVERYONE has the talent provided they put in the PRACTICE to develop the SKILL, I understand that for some people editing tubes is as far as they want to go and that is OKAY by me! This tutorial is my way of saying "This is the right way", and hopefully a way for me to inspire people to give their muse oxygen - use their imagination and let the creativity flow. Creativity and imagination have been my primary source of comfort and relief through depression, the separation from and then suicide of my husband, and even just the little every day stresses that tend to build up over time. Give yourself that gift as well.
